The high-resolution energy selective time of flight mass spectroscopy of trapped ions - 14 pole ion trap.

I'm working on a molecular dynamics study of nitrogenous aromatic hydrocarbons with the help of a mass spectrometer equipped with an Electrospray ionization source and a 14 pole Ion trap. The integrated Electrospray ion source with a 14-pole ion trap, high-frequency RF power supply, and computer-controlled pulsing circuit is built and tested in the AMP lab at IIST. Understanding the major nitrogenous compounds' molecular dynamics is crucial for comprehending their biological significance and how they form in space. In order to partially achieve the goal, the UV-Photodissociation Action Spectroscopy will be applied. The nano-second pulsed UV laser will be used to photodissociate the molecules after cooling them in an ion trap. The high-resolution energy selective time of flight mass spectrum will be studied for the research.
